As forfeits go, we’ve seen a lot worse.
Australian airline Qantas has had to take its medicine after coming out on the losing side of its bet with Kiwi rival Air New Zealand.
The national carriers set up the wager before the countries met in Saturday’s World Cup decider in London and as the big day approached the sides continued to engage in some Twitter jousting.
.@Qantas No we've been too busy sourcing@AllBlacks jerseys for your crew. Tricky, as they’re in demand @ the moment. #AirlineWager #NZLvAUS

Of course, New Zealand went on to claim the Webb Ellis Trophy, leaving Qantas to pay up.
A bet is a bet. Today we followed through with #AirlineWager and we accepted jerseys from @FlyAirNZ. pic.twitter.com/2Vk6zJGfNV
