It’s not that we don’t like it, we’re just not sure why it had to change.
One of the main pieces of business at this morning’s Six Nations 2015 launch was the unveiling of the brand new trophy that Ireland will be defending in the coming weeks.
It’s fierce snazzy altogether, with the Six Nations pr folks assuring us that it now has six sides to it, as opposed to the prehistoric five-sided trophy, which apparently has been discriminating against all-things Italian for the last 15 or so years.
It’s not too different to the previous model, which was in place since 1993. The new trophy is really just a souped-up version of the old trophy, with a spolier and some new alloys jazzing it up a little.
