PIC: Tommy Bowe tries to make emoji out of horribly mis-shapen knee after surgery

Get some peas on it quick

Ow, ow, ow.

Tommy Bowe faces a serious test of his powers of recovery to see any rugby action over the next nine months after suffering an horrendous knee injury in Ireland’s loss to Argentina at the Rugby World Cup.

The Ulster man suffered knee ligament damage in the loss at the Millennium Stadium and has been ruled out of the rest of this year and the 2016 Six Nations too.

He underwent surgery earlier this week to try and repair some of the damage, and the winger is trying to make the best of the situation by drawing a crude emoji on his knee using the stitches as the ‘smile’.

It’s almost as good as Paul O’Connell’s gag about his own hamstring surgery
