Could they not have got him a green pair?

Paul O’Connell  has gone under the knife to try and fix some of the damage his leg sustained during last week’s win over France.

The Limerick man is believed to have suffered a partial tear of his hamstring off the bone in his leg, which has put an end to his 14 years in the green jersey.

The Ireland captain will rejoin the Irish squad before Sunday’s World Cup quarter-final and let’s hope he’s managed to find some better underwear than what was on offer in a London hospital.

Quick, someone get Rala on the case.
