Retiring from sport must be very hard for anyone who was used to the life as a professional.
But as a pro then you were expected to put your life and limb on the line every time you crossed the whitewash.
We’ve seen far too many Irish rugby players call it a day over the last 12 months with the loss of Kevin McLaughlin to Leinster and Ireland especially mourned.
The former provincial captain w=quit the sport earlier this year on medical advice after receiving too many concussions in his career.
He’s been out of the game now since late September but thankfully he still has full IRFU medical coverage and it looks like he is putting it to good use as he’s tweeted a picture of him recovering from some serious looking facial surgery tonight
