A particularly Irish way to toast the end to the season
It was a painful way to go out, but that hasn’t stopped some of Connacht’s players from having an end-of-season knees up on the banks of the River Corrib.
After their hopes of winning a place in next season’s Champions Cup were cruelly ripped from their grasp in extra time in Gloucester on Sunday, Jack Carty posted this picture of members of the panel swigging from a bottle of Buckfast with the message: ‘Heartbreaking end to the season but I would do it all over again, with these fellas I’m fortunate to call my team mates. #friendsforlife’
It was clearly a serious party, with team-mate John Muldoon replying: ‘I was wondering why my head was so sore I know now.. #buckfast’
You deserve it lads.
