We’ve often heard how teams like to make their home ground a “fortress”, but it seems the Dragons have taken that mentality a bit too literally.
They come up against neihgbours Cardiff Blues in a local derby this afternoon at Rodney Parade, and have taken a bit of an extreme step to intimidate their opposition, by placing a large canon behind the dead-ball area.
The BBC tweeted the photo ahead of the sides’ meeting and if it’s anything to go by, today’s clash could be a fiery one.
On another note… We know a derby can get a bit heated but perhaps the NGD’s new defence strategy is a bit extreme. pic.twitter.com/9Jmy7SBeV3
