New Zealand Herald single out Johnny Sexton for having “no bottle”

Johnny Sexton was the victim of some cheap comments

Get ready to crank up the outrage-o-meter folks.

Off the back of the Telegraph’s world rugby XV that contained *JUST* four Englishmen, the New Zealand Herald have swiped back with a version of their own, containing seven of their countrymen, but alas no Irishmen made the cut.

And to add insult to injury, they singled out Johnny Sexton for some special criticism, when they explained why they chose South Africa’s Handrie Pollard at out half.

It read: “Did what Ireland’s Johnny Sexton will probably never do — and played two huge games against the All Blacks. This young man has no fear and all the skills to become world class. Sexton has all the skills, but no bottle when it counts.”

In a southern-hemisphere dominated side that includes two Argentines in the front row, just three northern hemisphere players make the cut; Rchie Gray, Chris Robshaw and Jamie Roberts.

The full team: Isreal Folau, Ben Smith, Tevita Kuridrani, Jamie Roberts, Julian Savea, Handrie Pollard, Aaron Smith; Marcos Ayerza, Dane Coles, Ramiro Herrera, Brodie Retallick, Richie Gray, Chris Robshaw, Richie McCaw, Kieran Read.
