Microsoft have mapped out the entire Rugby World Cup and they fancy Ireland’s chances

Come on

Conan Doherty

Let’s just go ahead and get a little carried away.

WE’RE GOING TO WIN THE WORLD CUP.

Well, Microsoft don’t think so but they fancy us to be right there with the All Blacks on the final day.

They’re not even Irish. So they would know. Right?

Bing have mapped out a tournament predictor and they’ve only gone and got us bloody excited. It’s not just us who are rating our chances. This is like a football fan thinking he has a right to settle an argument just because he’s a neutral.

Bing are neutral – so what they say is automatically 10 times more authoritative.

Crucially, the have Ireland topping their group and avoiding New Zealand in the quarter finals – instead pairing with Argentina. And they have us to beat Australia in the semis as well.

And, sure, as the old line goes, anything could happen in the final.

Spare a thought for poor Wales though whose chances are seemingly being trolled by Microsoft. Not just their group placing – the actual spelling of their name.
