The Connacht and Ireland centre has a fan at the RDS
One of the many men who really stepped up during the Autumn Internationals was Robbie Henshaw. The Connacht centre made our list of the six best performers for Ireland in November and his future looks to be very bright indeed.
Of course, where that future plays out is a question that has been up in the air for a while. Last summer the Athlone man was linked with a move from Connacht and we fully expect that sort of talk to rear its head again in the summer.
Rumours of a move to Leinster were in the Evening Herald this week so when Leinster forwards coach Leo Cullen was put in front of the press today, the topic of Henshaw was raised.
Cullen was diplomatic, but it was also obvious that he is impressed with the youngster.
‘Obviously Robbie is one of the stand out young players out there,’ said Cullen. ‘Starting for Ireland at 21 in the centre is quite an achievement. I didn’t see the Australia game at the weekend but I believe he is playing pretty well and I don’t know him personally but the lads all speak very highly of him.
‘Look, he’d obviously be a great player for Leinster to be interested in, whether anything happens on that I don’t know.’
