Leinster fans rage after province suffer record European loss

Embarassing

Kevin McGillicuddy

This is a low.

And in  a season of disaster for the former European champions Leinster, Leo Cullen’s side appeared to sink to new depths this afternoon with a 51-10 loss to Wasps.

An early injury to Johnny Sexton indicated it was going to be a very tough day in the Champions Cup against the Premiership side, and so it proved.

Former Leinster outhalf Jimmy Gopperth opened up the wound early on, and he kept pouring salt into the pus covered sore as Leinster slumped to a huge loss at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon

It’s hoped Sexton will be ok after taking a knock to the head early in the game that may be a concern for Joe Schmidt, while there was also bad news for Ireland’s front row options as Marty Moore was withdrawn late in the game.

Fans were stunned by the pathetic display and took to Twitter afterwards to vent their ire firstly at  the players

Then anger turned to Leo Cullen, the Leinster head coach

And Leinster fans feel one man only is right for the job
