Lack of an orange mohawk may have saved Sean O’Brien from a longer ban

Suited and booted is the way to go

It could have been a lot worse according to Joe Marler.

The England prop has opened up on how Sean O’Brien’s one-week ban may have been much stiffer if he had followed the Harlequins man’s fashion advice.

O’Brien will be missing for this Sunday’s World Cup quarter-final against Argentina after being found guilty of a punch on Pascal Pape during the 24-9 pool stage win over France last Sunday.

O’Brien was handed down a two-week ban but had one week taken off the initial sentence for his previous good character and that didn’t please everyone, with Brian Moore especially vexed

But perhaps Sean turned up in a smart suit and had his hair gelled with half a factory full of gunk to make himself more presentable, unlike Joe Marler.

The prop forward told of how one appearance in front of a citing commissioner did not end well because of his rather unusual fashion choices

However Brian Moore hasn’t taken kindly to the reaction to Marler’s comments by Twitter users

And poor Joe looks to be all sad too
