Video: Johnny Sexton gets right up in George Ford’s face after huge tackle

The Irishman has found a new rival

Patrick McCarry

Welcome to the big time.

Johnny Sexton won his personal duel with England out-half George Ford, on Sunday, and there was one moment that crystalised it.

The Racing Métro man hared after Ford and lifted him off his feet with a tackle that caused a turnover [more Alex Goode’s spill than his teammate’s hasty offload].

Sexton was quick to celebrate the tackle, and spill, right in Ford’s face. Keep an eye out for the brief stare-down.

Reminds us of his early clashes with Ronan O’Gara.

Let’s hope they make up with each other before the 2017 Lions Tour to New Zealand.
