This isn’t a very clever thing to say.
ITV commentator Nick Mullins has come under fire for making a very disrespectful remark about Fiji before their game against hosts England in tonight’s Rugby World Cup opener.
The commentator was heard saying: “They’ll be back in Fiji around one television hoping the generator doesn’t fail them.”Fiji is a collection of islands in the South Pacific with a population of 858,038, so that must be an extremely large television they’re all huddled around.
Or maybe this is how Mullins imagines life in the country?Needless to say, this piece of commentary didn’t go down well on Twitter.

I'm sorry, did the ITV commentator really just say Fijians will be gather around the 1 village TV hoping the satellite signal doesn't die?

Mullins’ description of the English maul was also met with disapproval.
Time to turn off the Rugby from ITV. The commentator just called the English maul "A rolling ball of humanity"
