Cross every finger you have.

Following the euphoria from last night, there looks to be bad sporting news on the way for Irish fans.

Word from the Irish camp is that today’s team announcement has been delayed until 2:30pm.

This is the second occasion that Schmidt’s announcement has been pushed back in the space of 24 hours.

Irish Times reporter Gavin Cummiskey has the reason why the IRFU have pushed back the selection.

Rumours from Cardiff suggest that Keith Earls may be back in the midfield picture, after earlier speculation that he would be cut from the matchday 23.

That would suggest that Jared Payne did not come through this morning’s training session in good enough shape to make the cut.

Once we get official confirmation from the IRFU, we will let you know.
