We can’t imagine Paul O’Connell showing up on the Late Late Show in drag after he retires.
Former France back row Sébastien Chabal is loving this retirement lark. Having hung up his rugby boots for the final time (apart from charity outings) last summer, Chabal is embracing life as a media personality.
His latest bound into the spotlight came at a night in honour of French cabaret star and former Brive Rugby president Patrick Sébastian. ‘The Caveman’ appeared on stage in a fetching blouse, skirt, high heels and blonde wig.
Good to see Chabal playing against type. Expect him to follow the Eric Cantona route and appear in a zany comedy about a gruff boxer who rescues a chimp-owning monk in Mexico. ‘Mookie 2’, coming to a cinema screen near you in 2015.
