Tommy Bowe will present eir sport’s PRO14 rugby coverage

Tommy Bowe will present eir sport’s Guinness PRO14 coverage for the coming season.

He’ll be joined by Ireland internationals Donncha O’Callaghan and Luke Fitzgerald who will lead the punditry team.

The Irish broadcaster acquired the rights to all 152 games for the upcoming season and will show 30 hours of coverage each week, including up to six live games a week with extensive pre-match and post-match analysis, in addition to a weekly highlights show.

A sub-licencing agreement with TG4 will see the free-to-air station still show some games but the Leinster and Munster derbies will be kept exclusively on eir sport.

“We’re delighted with this line-up put together by our production team led out by Colm Stafford and Chris Blake,” said eir Head of Marketing, Gordon Britchfield.
“It’s a fresh and new approach particularly in having Tommy Bowe as presenter so soon after his retirement from the game, I don’t think we’ve seen that before in an Irish context.
“Tommy blew us away in rehearsals, he is incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and he wanted to present rather than being a pundit.”

Elsewhere Irish women’s international Maz Reilly will also join the broadcast team in addition to journalist Murray Kinsella.

Susan Brady, Managing Director of Consumer and Small Business commented: “We are delighted to have a team of this calibre and experience on the eir sport Guinness PRO14 panel and excited to watch how the 2018/19 PRO14 unfolds this season.

“This panel has great experience from playing a huge part in big provincial battles to World Cups and we’re looking forward to them bringing their on-field experience into studio.”
