Money talks, but it don’t sing and dance, and it don’t walk…
Actually, Neil Diamond is wrong, because Racing Metro are about to prove that money can talk, sing, dance, walk and kick penalties and conversions too.
All-Black legend Dan Carter has announced tonight that he’s joining Racing Metro after the World Cup, with some reports suggesting the 32-year-old is set to earn as much as €1.5m a year at the club, a rugby record, and double the money out-going fly-half Johnny Sexton earned.
While the specifics of thee deal are yet to be revealed, Carter confirmed on Twitter that he’ll be making the move to France, meaning the 2015 World Cup is set to be the last time we’ll see the legend in an All-Black shirt.
We’re praying to high heavens that Ronan O’Gara sticks around to be his coach…
Sad to think 2015 will be my last year playing in NZ but excited to announce my move to @RacingMetro92 next December
