If you thought you knew what an injury crisis was, well you know nothin’.
Connacht may almost have run out of treatment tables for their walking wounded ahead of this weekend’s European clash with Newcastle Falcons.
Pat Lam’s side may have made some unwelcome Challenge Cup history this afternoon with an unusual squad announcement. Instead of the permitted 23 players that a rugby squad is allowed, things have gotten so bad that the Galway based side can only name 22 players.

They did have 23 players ready for the weekend until an injury befell Ronan Loughney in training today.
The squad is made up of nine fit backs with many commenting that the Westeners have made history due to their injury crisis.
Another tough outing for Connacht v Newcastle, 22 fit, 7 changes, 4 positional switches, 3 first time starters this season+ Naoupu to cpt

Connacht's injuries so bad they can only name 22 players, including "the nine fit and available backs". Remarkable they're even competitive.

Man alive.
Connacht's injury list means they've only named 22 players for this weekend's game.
I think that's a first in this comp
