They’re good lads over there at TG4

It’s been a minor fall from grace for Connacht, after the unprecedented high they reached winning the Guinness Pro 12 for the first time in 2016.

They finished eight in the Guinness Pro 12 this season, meaning they must qualify for the Champions Cup through the play-offs.

Their coach, Pat Lam, is set to leave at the end of the season after being offered a lucrative deal to coach Bristol.

Lam will be hoping to leave on a positive note however by guiding Connacht into the Champions Cup at the weekend. To do that they will have to win two playoff matches, starting with a trip to England this weekend.

They face Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens at 4pm on Saturday in a playoff semi-final.

TG4 will broadcast the game live from Northampton.

Cardiff Blues face Stade Francais in the other semi-final on Friday, with the final taking place on Friday 26 May.

The broadcaster will also show both Guinness PRO12 Semi Finals in a jam-packed weekend of rugby for the channel.

Leinster faces off against Scarlets at the RDS Arena on Friday night with Munster hosting Ospreys in Thomond Park on Saturday evening.
