Connacht in danger of having another key player poached

Migration to the east

Last time we checked Connacht were top of the PRO12.

Top of the PRO12, baby! With just seven regular season games to go.

So why the hell do players keep trying to flee Pat Lam’s squad?

First we had Rodney Ah You deciding to leave the bright lights of Galway behind for Belfast. Then prodigal son Robbie Henshaw announced he was heading to the capital, Leinster and his girlfriend.

Now it seems the league leaders may lose versatile forward Aly Muldowney to the Top 14, with French media reporting the 32 year old is being pursued by Bernard Jackman’s Grenoble.

Muldowney signed a three-year contract when he joined from Exeter Chiefs in 2013 and, with that deal winding down at the end of the season, it seems the Ireland-qualified Englishman is going to give it a go in the green fields of France.

The popular and powerful Muldowney was named team man of the year last season and will be missed at the Sportsgrounds.
