We can’t wait for September 2 as, if the stars align, Charles Piutau should make his Ulster debut amid the Kingspan Stadium din on a Friday night full of dizzy hope.
Ulster fans must have looked on in a tizzy, last season, as the Kiwi ripped it up for Wasps. 23 games, 10 tries, eight assists, 18,206 side-steps and seven billion offloads later, they were practically begging him to stay.
Piutau had given his word to Ulster, though, and he stuck to it. As part of their pre-season preparations, the northern province are giving supporters a behind the scenes look.

Week 2 of the vlog features the All Blacks winger introducing himself as Salesi Tu’ipulotu Piutau but insisting everyone calls him Charles. Sporting a stitched up forehead gash, he says:
“It’s always good to put in some hard work and go to those hard places with the guys.”
Piutau has also been demonstrating some of the evasion skills that make him such an astute capture of Les Kiss’ side.
Later!
The vlogs are well worth a watch, especially for those of you craving rugby in the off-season.
Charles is ready to go.
