Fernando Alonso has been airlifted to hospital after crashing his car on the final day of pre-season F1 testing.
The Spanish F1 driver was going around 150 km when he hit a wall on his 21st lap of testing at the Circuit De Catalunya in Barcelona earlier today. McLaren have said he was conscious when he was airlifted to hospital, and Luis Garcia Abad, Alonso’s advisor, tweeted that the driver is ‘OK’.
Alonso has just rejoined McLaren from Ferrari and is a two-time world champion.
Fernando está bien y consciente. Muchas gracias por vuestro interés. Fernando is OK and conscious. Thank you !
