Diaz gonna Diaz.
The only thing that’s easy to predict from either Diaz brother is that absolutely nothing is predictable.
And Nate Diaz could well find himself in a little bit of trouble for his antics after the final buzzer of his victory over Michael Johnson in Orlando.
As is typically the case when one of the Stockton fighters takes to the octagon, there was plenty bad blood in the cage between Diaz and his opponent after weeks of trash-talk and the ill will continued in the seconds after the fight finished.
The buzzer rang as Diaz defended a Johnson back-take by rolling for a kneebar but rather than release the submission, Diaz gave a little bit of torque to the knee which was met with a series of heel kicks to the body as a frustrated Johnson attempted to stand up.
To be fair to both men, there was much ado about nothing and they shook hands after the judges’ decision was read out so the beef seemed to have been squashed but they would both want to be very careful with their post-fight behaviour, especially in the modern climate of commissions’ punishments.
