It was always expected that Conor McGregor would take a good chunk of the hype of UFC 189 but we’re just as excited about seeing Gunnar Nelson’s attempt to get back to winning ways.
The Icelandic fighter is something of an adopted Irishman considering the number of years he’s trained under SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh.
Nelson has been in Las Vegas with the McGregor and Kavanagh for his fight camp and one of his coaches, Jón Viðar Arnþórsson, shared several videos on his Instagram account of the welterweight’s training.
Nelson fights Brandon Thatch in a fortnight’s time and is clearly prepared if the fight stays standing.
