Never a dull moment

It’s been an eventful and unpleasant weekend for Matt ‘The Immortal’ Brown.

The UFC welterweight was one of the more unpopular men in Curitiba over the past few days due to a couple of incidents revolving around his UFC 198 meeting with Demian Maia.

At the weigh-ins on Friday night, Brown became public enemy number one by inciting the home crowd with a one finger salute.

And on the way to the Octagon the next night, Brown almost ended up brawling with a fan who grabbed his hood during his walk-out.

Brown ended up losing to Maia via third-round submission and the drama continued on Sunday when it emerged that a former grappling coach of ‘The Immortal’ named Rodrigo Botti had stormed into the fighter’s hotel and allegedly attacked Brown.

UFC commentator Brian Stann saw the incident play out and took to Twitter to explain what he’d witnessed.

The grudge between Botti and Brown apparently stems from a dispute last year that came when Brown wore wrestling shoes on the BJJ mats which enraged the Brazilian.

That’s according to Brown’s wife Colleen who attempted to clear up the ill will on her social media.

Below is video of the violent exchange that followed when a friend of Brown, reportedly Vinicius Lemos, chased Botti down and attempted to exact revenge.
