There's a reason that certain venues beef up their security measures during mixed martial arts events.
And that's because some fancy themselves as a bit of a hard man after watching professional fighters show off their skills.
We don't know if that's what prompted this full-on mass brawl on Sunday afternoon as fans clashed during the broadcast of UFC 196 outside the Hurstville Ritz Hotel in Sydney.
But we do know that the scenes are terribly disturbing.

The
Sydney Morning Herald report that a teenage boy fractured his eye socket during the melee which is said to have involved up to 50 fight fans.
The clash spilled out onto the street in front of a pub on Forest Road where the above footage was captured.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested at the scene for offensive language but she has since been released and the police are using the footage as part of their investigation.
