Great news! There’s at least twice as many Irish fighters in the new UFC game than there was in the last installment.
Conor McGregor was the only playable Irish fighter in EA Sports UFC (2014), although honorary Irishman Gunnar Nelson who trains out of SBG in Dublin also featured.
We already knew McGregor will be in the highly anticipated sequel because a) common sense and b) because he featured very prominently in the first trailer for the game. On Tuesday it was confirmed that there are at least two Irish fighters in the game.
The second trailer has just been released and surprisingly, the Notorious isn’t the most heavily featured Irishman in the video. Instead, UFC Dublin headliner Paddy Holohan takes centre stage as he squares off against flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.
I know what you’re thinking, how do we know DJ still holds the belt in this virtual reality and all we’ll say is we can’t see any reality where Mighty Mouse won’t be holding that belt.
