The new Gunnar Nelson documentary looks great, but who knows if we’ll ever get to see it.
The documentary debuted on Icelandic TV on Sunday and judging by this trailer, it looks really interesting.
Honorary Irishman Gunni is widely regarded as the best BJJ practitioner on the continent of Europe, but isn’t really known for being in the spotlight.
This makes his relationship with his training partner and charismatic showman Conor McGregor very intriguing and this documentary appears to shed more light on their friendship.
The documentary appears to follow Nelson through the last year or so in the UFC, from suffering his first ever professional loss to Rick Story right up to his latest win over Brandon Thatch.
It also seems to touch on his separation with Audur Omarsdottir, the mother of his child, which he went through around the same time as the Rick Story fight.
Unfortunately, there is no indication that we’ll be able to see it in this part of the world any time soon, but we’re sincerely hoping someone is trying to acquire the rights, or at the very least upload a subtitled version (it’s in Icelandic) online soon.
