Kron Gracie’s MMA debut went exactly as you’d expect it go
The son of undefeated MMA legend Rickson scored an emphatic submission victory in his first professional bout in the sport. Kron defeated fellow newcomer Hyung Soo-Kim in the Real Fight Championship 1 in Tokyo earlier today. He pulled guard early in the first round before locking in an outstanding armbar forcing his opponent to tap after just 65 seconds.
Kron has been pegged as one of the fighters to watch, obviously because of his surname being so steeped in the history of MMA. The fact that he holds more jiu-jitsu and grappling titles than Mark Hunt has had hot dinners also adds to the hype around the 26-year-old.
With the first win in the books, we’ll have to keep a close an eye on the young prospect to see if all that training with the Diaz brothers and Gilbert Melendez pays off and moulds him into an elite fighter. It’s early days, but so far he looks promising.
