“He’s an Irishman and I’m a black man that can fight. That’s all it is really.”
Newly-minted IBF world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has revealed he is a huge fan of Conor McGregor, claiming his shared fighting background makes the two peas in a pod.
“There’s no two ways about it, we from fighting backgrounds, we have similar cultures,” the British fighter said in an interview with Heavyw8 News. “We fight, we’re warriors.
Joshua also likes McGregor’s oft-divisive attitude, and in fact wishes he had taken the Irishman’s nickname first.
“The Notorious, I wish I took that name. I like it, I like everything about Conor McGregor.”
