What a fight.
Conor McGregor and Chad Mendes left everything in the cage for their interim title fight at UFC 189.
Despite all the verbal sparring the two engaged in before the bout, and Mendes’ claim that McGregor had made it “personal” with his insults, the two warriors still have huge respect for each other as fighters.
After McGregor knocked out Mendes in stunning fashion in the second round, he fell to his knees in the centre of the Octagon. When Mendes got back to his feet, he walked over to McGregor, hugged him and helped him back to his feet.
These two knew they were a part of something special.
