MMA Math doesn’t come much more iron-clad than this.
It’s strange how the term caught on when it’s not really unique to the sport of mixed martial arts.
The formula is simple – if team A beats team B and team B beats team C, then we can deduce that team A would beat team C.
For example, in 2004, Longford Town would have beaten giants Real Madrid. The Town defeated Shelbourne 4-1, who drew with Deportivo La Coruna 0-0, who beat scored a 2-0 victory over Los Blancos in La Liga that year. Iker Casillas would have been no match for Dessie Baker.

This system is equally stupid in MMA.
We’ve always been massive fans of Cathal Pendred. He’s a true servant to the Irish MMA scene and his win over a juiced-up middleweight Mike King in Dublin will go down as one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the sport, However. there’s no way he’s beating Jon Jones, who is one of the greatest fighters to ever grace an Octagon.
According to MMA Math, though, he does. Cathal Pendred beat Che Mills, who beat Marius Zaromskis, who beat Kazushi Sakuraba, who beat Quinton Jackson, who beat Mat Hammil, who beat Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.
So, this is really expert level trolling from Mickey Gall, who after just four professional fights can use MMA math to prove he’s the real heavyweight champion.
Watch your back, Stipe. Watch your back.
