UFC pull absolutely shameless commercial move with Carlos Condit’s walkout song

Sad

Anyone hoping to hear ‘Know Your Enemy’ for Carlos Condit’s walkout was bitterly disappointed at UFC 219.

Former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit’s return against Neil Magny didn’t exactly go to plan.

Condit was soundly shut down by Magny who cruised to a unanimous decision victory. It seemed to be a combination of ring rust from Condit and a hell of a game plan by Magny that contributed to a one-sided, dull fight.

Credit where it’s due, Magny did his job and got the win in his 17th UFC fight. He put the pressure on, got the takedowns and never let Condit get into the groove.

Although there were some brief flashes of dynamic striking from ‘The Natural Born Killer,’ it truly was a night to forget for him as he slumped to three consecutive defeats.

Condit’s entrance proved to be a bad omen for the rest of the night. Fans are used to seeing him walk out to Rage Against the Machine, but the UFC had a horrible commercial tie-in planned for his return.

The UFC are plugging the shit out of Netflix’s big steaming pile of mediocrity starring Will Smith called Bright. While watchable, especially for a film you don’t have to shell out loads of money to go see in the cinema, it will never be confused with a good movie.

It also features an Orc. Which is why this monstrosity is a thing.

So for Condit’s walkout, instead of an adrenaline-pumping, headbanging, fist-clenching, metal anthem booming around the arena, fans were forced to endure an overproduced pile of muck from the Bright soundtrack.

As you’ve probably already guessed, it didn’t exactly go down well.

Here’s hoping Condit got very lavishly paid for his walkout. Although we struggle to think of a sum of money that would be adequate compensation.
