It looks like the UFC have already started to struggle without Burt Watson.
Urijah Faber is due to take on Frankie Edgar in the main event of the UFC Manila this weekend. However, the California Kid revealed in a recent interview that his sleeping arrangements during fight week aren’t really ideal.
“You guys aren’t going to believe this. They’ve got me and Frankie – they’ve got us right next to each other. Like we can open our doors, in the hotel, and we’re like touching hands. He’s like two feet away from my door.
“Yeah they don’t have Burt [Watson], where’s Burt man.”
Watson, was the former “babysitter to the stars”, before calling quits on his 14-year association with the promotion earlier this year.
He was employed to look after the fighters’ needs during events, organising everything from hotels, transport, legal medication/remedies and anything else the athletes required during fight week.
However, Watson stepped down from his position mid-way through UFC 184, after getting involved with a confrontation with a UFC official over a mix-up with MArk Munoz’ transport.
The cracks look like they’ve already started to appear since Watson’s departure, and this latest error by the promotion is a prime example.
