TWEETS: Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo might be the real winners of Mayweather v Pacquiao

Great PR for UFC 189

An underwhelming “Fight of the Century” did wonders for promoting UFC 189.

Floyd Mayweather put in a superb tactical performance to earn a unanimous decision victory over Manny Pacquiao in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The fight between two of the greatest pugilists of the modern era was one of the most anticipated bouts of the modern era. However, Mayweather’s dominance and defensive prowess meant that the bout fell short of living up to the hype.

While fight fans were somewhat disappointed that the showdown proved to be a little bit anti-climactic, the lacklustre bout proved to be great at generating buzz for one of the most anticipated MMA fights of the year.

Conor McGregor is set to take on the greatest featherweight to ever grace an Octagon, P4P best UFC fighter Jose Aldo in the main event at UFC 189. After the marketing genius of the UFC 189 World Tour, there was already a lot of hype surrounding the featherweight title fight. However, that was kicked into overdrive following the Mayweather v Pacquiao bout.
