As much as we’re Team Conor, we must admit that we admired how Jose Aldo conducted himself on the recent UFC 189 media tour.
He seemed reserved, calm and professional throught, even in Dublin when he received a lorryload of abuse from 3,000 McGregor fans and The Notorious himself.
Even when McGregor snatched the belt Aldo and held it aloft to the delight of the Irish crowd, we thought “fair play to Jose” because he didn’t react by throwing a punch. “Nice guy!” we thought.
Then we read the reported translation of what Aldo said to McGregor and, woah, the man’s got some swearing up his sleeve.
As much as we’d love to pretend that we’re fluent in Portuguese, we must give all credit to one bilingual MMA fan on Reddit for translating the diatribe.
“You’re a loser. You’re a loser, dude. Loser. “Zé Boceta”! You son of a bitch! You son a bitch! Loser, loser. “Zé Boceta”! Go fuck your self in the ass. Go fuck yourself right in the middle of your ass, you “arrombado”. Son of a bitch. You piece of shit. You big piece of shit.”
The best way to translate “Zé Boceta” is “Pussy Joe”. It stands for a real, real loser, someone who really can’t have anything right, an incredible underachiever.
And “arrombado” means your butthole has seen so many penises that it just can’t function straight anymore. It’s like a gapped anus or something. And man, that really is offensive here in Brazil.
Perhaps the UFC featherweight champion could do with some lessons from this fellow.
