MMA veteran vs internet troll turned out exactly as everyone predicted

Always going to happen

Ben Kiely

If you’re going to fight Tara LaRosa, you can’t be any geek off the street.

Tara LaRosa is a 27-fight veteran. She fought professionally for 13 years and has competed in top promotions like Invicta and Bodog Fight. Alexis Davis, Roxanne Modafferi, Julie Kedzie and Shayna Baszler are just some of the big names on her impressive list of scalps.

If you have absolutely zero combat sports training, you’re going to struggle against her. It would be the same if a knuckle-dragger decides they could beat up Katie Taylor or Paddy Barnes purely because they’re bigger than them. The result would never be in doubt.

Skills win fights. We saw that in UFC 220’s main event and we also saw it when LaRosa finally fought that internet troll.

At some point, the penny has to drop with trolls who think they can beat elite fighters. The bodybuilder that called out Cody Garbrandt had the sense to flee the scene before the then-UFC bantamweight champion had a chance to get his hands on him. However, the troll who abused UFC veteran Josh Neer on social media was given a savage beatdown that was so violent it went viral.

Kristopher Zylinski got a little lucky that he didn’t receive a similar comeuppance for his sexist comments on Facebook. He initially booked himself a fight against undefeated amateur female fighter Anna Dempster by claiming a trained woman couldn’t stop an average guy.

“99% of women are too weak and lack the reflexes to do enough damage to stop 99% of men. Even if they knew BJJ they just don’t have the size or strength to use the holds. It’s dangeous (sic) to teach any woman to try and strike or fight a man. Just my 2 cents, ” Zylinski said on Facebook.

Dempster pulled out due to injury and LaRosa stepped in as her replacement. The fight actually happened over the weekend and unsurprisingly,  LaRosa made Zylinski tap twice. You can check out the full session in the video embedded below.
