MMA fans should be happy for Ronda Rousey.
Ronda Rousey’s personality divided a lot of people. The way in which she handled herself in media obligations towards the tail end of her MMA career rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way. When she suffered back-to-back brutal knockouts before unofficially bowing out, plenty of fans were quick to tear strips off her.
Like it or not, Rousey is undeniably an icon of the sport. She’s the reason why Dana White broke his vow of never allowing women to compete in the UFC. Before Conor McGregor emerged, she was bringing the sport to a whole new mainstream audience.
The sport may have passed her by, but she’s earned her place in history. If she wants to make money in the WWE, we sincerely hope she finds success there.

That being said, the early indications aren’t great for the former bantamweight queen.
Chael Sonnen was right, from everything we’ve seen until now, we can conclude that Rousey is not a good actor. In fact, she may very well be an awful actor. Her cameo appearances in the Expendables III, Entourage and Fast and Furious 7 prove it.
If you want to see a prime example of Rousey’s struggles with acting, look no further than the first teaser she appeared in for the WWE. She had one meaningful line and the delivery so poor, if it was a pizza, you’d expect it to be free.
“You name the time, you name the place… Not today? Alright, we’ll be waiting to hear from you.”

As someone who would draw the curtains if the WWE put on a live show in my backyard, I’m not entirely sure of the appeal of WWE. It’s probably not the acting, but being incompetent at that craft surely wouldn’t help.
