Ronda Rousey’s week just keeps getting better.
After retaining her UFC women’s bantamweight title and stretching her undefeated record to 11-0, it was revealed that “Rowdy” is the only person who will receive a free ticket to the biggest boxing bout of the modern era.
Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum was so impressed by Rousey’s 14 second submission victory over Cat Zingano at UFC 184 that he’s promised a seat to the 135lb champ.
Jeff Powell of MailOnline reports that Arum “expressed that he was a huge fan of Rousey’s and wanted to show his support by offering her such a prized asset for the Las Vegas bout.”
Prior to Saturday night’s main event, Rousey had mentioned how she planned on using her fight winnings to try to seal tickets for Mayweather v Pacquiao, which takes place on May 2.
“I gotta go beat Cat Zingano so I can make a couple million dollars and afford that ticket,” she told TMZ.
The cheapest tickets for Las Vegas bout are around $4,000 with floor seats costing fight fans over $20,000.
But it doesn’t look like she has to spend a penny after Arum said: “She should just call me and I’m happy to get her a ticket, I really admire her, she’s a real warrior.”
The news comes after Arum last week stated that there would be no free tickets given for the spectacular clash. That makes Rousey a very special case indeed.
