As is so often the case, Cher appears to have played a huge role in fixing a huge scandal in the MMA community.
UFC star Nick Diaz might not be suspended for five years after all. In fact, he may return to the Octagon as early as 2016.
The former Strikeforce champion’s legal team is currently in settlement talks with the Nevada Athletic Commission and reports are circulating that Diaz could actually be back fighting for the UFC by sometime in 2016.

The UFC welterweight received a 5-year ban and a $165,000 fine for failing a post-fight drug test due to marijuana use after his super-fight with Anderson Silva.
The MMA community was outraged at the NSAC’s harsh punishment of banning Diaz for five-years because he will be 36 when the ban will end, which means that it would have essentially ended his MMA career.
A White House petition to get Diaz’s ban overturned gathered some serious steam on social media, with celebrities such as Cher asking followers to add their signature.
