Before Conor McGregor was signed to the UFC, the promotion’s undisputed king of trash-talk was Chael Sonnen.
It seems that Chael P. Sonnen (he maintains the P stands for perfection) is still as much of a showman as ever since he was ousted from the UFC.
The former middleweight and light-heavyweight title contender made a name for himself in the sport for his magnificently constructed trash-talk and snappy zingers. The American Gangster became one of the UFC’s biggest stars because of his over-confident persona and his ability to cut-down interviewers, fighters, pretty much anyone really with his heightened smacumen (smack-talk acumen).
It seems Sonnen has been continuing to troll fighters since being ousted from the promotion for being at the centre of a PED controversy. The former fighter posted this magnificent photo of an autograph he signed for a fan to his official Facebook account last night, with a message that was clearly meant as a dig at Conor McGregor.
The Notorious made the claim at the UFC 189 World Tour event in Dublin that he was the king of the Irish capital. However, Sonnen reckons that the Dublin throne has been usurped.
