What a shot, in every sense
Ireland’s Philip Mulpeter took on Vitor Nobrega for the International Pro Combat welterweight title in Portugal last night. Unfortunately, the Laois native lost the decision to the Brazilian after an all-out war at the Estoril Casino.
Undisputed champion Nobrega unloaded a devastating body kick to Mulpeter’s side during the bout which was captured beautifully by one photographer at the event. There was so much force behind the kick that it sent a ripple through the Honey Badger’s body and had a rather interesting effect on the Irishman’s huge back piece tattoo.
As you can see from the image, Nobrega’s leg appeared to put a dent in the giant skull etched on the fighter’s skin. This made for a spectacular photo and, presumably, some severely bruised ribs. Mulpeter showed great heart to eat the kick and see out the remainder of the fight.
