We’ve already got Joseph Duffy, Cathal Pendred and Norman Parke signed on for October 24th.
While this morning’s new additions to the UFC Dublin fight card won’t likely make the casual fan run out to buy tickets, they are two solid middleweight clashes.
The UFC today announced that joining Duffy v Poirier, Pendred v Breese and Parke v Madadi will be an all-European middleweight clash between Scott Askham and Krzysztof Jotko.
England’s Askham is currently 1-1 in the UFC after quickly disposing of Antonio dos Santos Jr in his last outing and will be looking to put on a show in the 3Arena.
To do so, he’ll have to overcome the highly touted Jotko whose only career loss is also at the hands of Magnus Cedenblad but the Polish fighter won’t have fought in over a year by the time UFC Dublin rolls around so may have to battle ring rust as well as Askham.
Another 185lb contest announced for the octagon’s return to the capital is an intercontinental match-up between Garreth “Soldierboy” McLellan and Bubba “The Fighting Texas Aggie” Bush.
McLellan is a South African submission specialist who holds a 12-3 record but has yet to taste victory in the UFC.
He puts his grappling prowess up against the well-rounded Texan, Bubba Bush, who also has’t won in the octagon.
We anxiously await confirmation of fights for the likes of Gunnar Nelson, Neil Seery, Paddy Holohan, Aisling Daly and Paul Redmond but it seems like Joe Silva and Sean Shelby are indeed hard at work putting together a thrilling fight card that, thus far, looks like this.
