All is not well at the Jackson Wink fight team.
Mike Perry seems to have shaken things up since his move to Jackson Wink, which has a reputation for being one of the best mixed martial arts gyms in the world, and he is set to fight former team stalwart Donald Cerrone this weekend.
After Cerrone had some criticism for Jackson Wink in recent months, Perry jumped at the chance to share the Octagon with ‘Cowboy’ in the UFC’s return to Denver, Colorado.
But it’s not just fighters who used to fight out of Jackson Wink that Perry is critical of. He has now taken aim at current teammate Ray Borg for pulling out of his scheduled bout with Joseph Benavidez due to medical issues.
When speaking to Aaron Bronsteter at media day, Perry claimed that Borg withdrew from his fight out of fear and explained his tension with the flyweight.
“He’s not fighting on this card? Aw man, that illness is, man . . .” Perry said, as transcribed by MMAjunkie. “He got caught, bro. He was talking shit about Frank the Tank [JacksonWink striking coach Frank Lester] on his wife’s Instagram story in the background.

“We heard him talking. ‘I don’t like Frank the Tank. I don’t think he’s a good coach’ and this and that, and he don’t know nothing about Frank.
“He’s just a fucking hater and that’s why his bitch-ass ain’t showing up this week to fucking fight like a man. Sick, you come down with illness. Bitch you scared!”
Perry, who remains a controversial figure in the UFC’s welterweight division, could earn a ranking with a victory over Cerrone on Saturday night.
And we shouldn’t expect ‘Platinum’ to bury the hatchet with Borg if they run into each other at the fighter hotel in the coming days.
“He was there, he was training, he’s still there I guess,” Perry said of Borg.
“The gym is very, there’s a lot people. As a fighter you may go to a gym but I have my plan on how I train, when I train, the times that I train, the people that I train with. . . So we don’t really see all the people all the time.
“I see Ray Borg a few times but then it’s been like he’s on Cowboy’s nuts and he was hating on Frank and shit and ever since he got caught hating on Frank, there’s been this fog in the air. And he don’t say shit. I don’t think I’ve ever said two words to Ray Borg.”
