You’ve got to hand it to Michael Bisping, he’s always up for a fight.

The UFC middleweight champion proved once again he never shies away from a challenge.

Bisping wants to step in to fight light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 with just two days’ notice after Jon Jones was pulled due to a potential doping violation.

The veteran British fighter won a historic and shock victory over Luke Rockhold to claim the middleweight strap after taking the fight at barely two weeks’ notice.

Now he has thrown his hat into the ring t the eleventh hour to take on the fight against Cormier as the main event at the UFC landmark 200 show.

Bisping, who came into the UFC as a light heavyweight before dropping down a division, posted this message on Twitter…

He reiterated his intention to take the fight, tagging Dana and Lorenzo Fertitta in the tweet…

Speaking after the shock announcement that Jones had been removed from the card, Dana White wasn’t ruling out a late, late replacement.

“Maybe someone will pop up and fight Cormier at the last minute,” he said. “Stranger things have happened.”

While Bisping is already in the US on media duties and has a clean bill of health after his title victory over Rockhold, another man is favourite to step in.

Gegard Mousasi, who is on the UFC 200 undercard against Thiago Santos, has also said he’d take the fight with Cormier.

A fight could be announced later today with Dana White holding a press conference.
