Aisling Daly made UFC history tonight by becoming the first Irish woman to win in the promotion
Daly absolutely dominated her opponent Alex Chambers for the entirety of the fight, putting on a grappling masterclass. The Dubliner scored a beautiful takedown in the first round and never really left the top position for the rest of the bout.
She eventually transitioned into mount and worked her way to lock in an armbar, forcing the Australian to tap late in the first round. The win means the UFC will surely keep her on the books, and who knows, she might even be joining the plethora of Irish fighters on the “I can’t believe it’s not Dublin” event in Boston next year.
