We’re close to the stage with the Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather narrative where we might be able to just enjoy the trash talk and not even bother with a fight.
Both are known for it, both seem to enjoy doing it, and it means neither the American nor the Irishman need to actually step into the ring.
Everyone’s been chipping in ahead of the fight, which – let us not forget – hasn’t actually been booked.
McGregor has fired shots, of course, while we’ve also had input from Tyron Woodley, Dana White and – of course – Ben Affleck.

The big sticking point so far (well, one of them) has been money, and who knows more about money than the man nicknamed ‘Money’? Well, bankers, maybe, but that’s beside the point.
Mayweather has hit back on Twitter over McGregor’s apparent demands, giving ‘The Notorious’ a quick maths lesson.
Before you ask for $25M, be worth more than $25M. You have the "2" and the "5" right but you meant to say $2.5M not $25M. pic.twitter.com/07vaWF0hen

If we ignore the fact that Mayweather appears to have googled his own name in order to make a point – and who are we to argue with him on that – we can’t really fault his maths.
We’re sure McGregor is rubbing his hands together as he prepares to put together his reply, which may make mention of a wealth estimated a tad higher than that suggested by Mayweather.
