Max Holloway stops workout to punk cheeky heckler

You'd be bricking it

Max Holloway is the paragon of calmness heading into his first UFC title defence.

Undisputed featherweight king Max Holloway takes on Jose Aldo in an immediate rematch in UFC 218’s headline act this weekend.

The Hawaiian appears to be really enjoying life as a defending champion with a wide smile washed over his face during every media obligation from the interviews to the open workout. He put on a show for the crowd in Detriot, hitting pads with the crowd really connecting with his infectious positivity.

He took a brief break from piecing up the pads when he noticed a fan heckling him from the crowd. Holloway immediately stopped and called the man out for calling him ‘Luigi’ before asking him to come up on stage.

“I brang him up here. This guy called me Luigi. That’s some messed up shit, right? Body shot? Body shot! Body shot!”

Holloway proceeded to run towards the fan and fake a body shot before giving him his shirt. He vowed that the real body shot would be coming against Aldo on Saturday. You can check out the lighthearted moment in the video embedded below from around the one minute mark.

If you’re confused about the heckle, the video in the tweet embedded below may clear things up.

In one of the more surreal moments in his career, Holloway dressed up and acted like Luigi from the popular video game Mario Kart.

It is what it is.
