It has been a long journey.
It has been a rollercoaster ride for Jon Jones since becoming the youngest UFC Champion back in 2011.
There’s been DUI charges, incidents involving cocaine and testing positive for banned substances.
The 30-year-old has gone on the straight and narrow in his comeback after cleaning up his image and this culminated in regaining his light heavyweight crown against bitter rival Daniel Cormier on Sunday morning.

In the weeks building up to the fight, Jones’ mother passed away.
When asked if he was thinking of her during a post fight press conference, the newly crowned light heavyweight champion didn’t say much but what he did say was lovely.
“I’m glad that she got to watch the fight tonight, front row. She had the best seat in the house and I know she’d be extremely proud right now so I’m happy.”
